Moka on Soho: Hello from Mobutu and Charlotte

Moka on Soho is located in Pittsburgh's historic Hill District, a neighborhood with a rich cultural history which has produced a dizzying amount of luminaries across many fields. We founded Moka on Soho to transform lives through creativity and imagination. Though once a famous Pittsburgh cultural hub, the neighborhood has also been famously underserved by the city. For that reason, we decided to build Moka on Soho art gallery as a Hill District community art gallery.

We found a building slated to be destroyed, organized a team of builders and architects and converted it into a four story art gallery and home. Since it's humble beginnings, Moka on Soho has focused on bringing people together for exhibits, cultural events and multi dimensional programs. Moka on Soho's vision is to inspire and empower new generations of artists while supporting the Hill District through their love of art and appreciation of history.
